Spring into Bandcamp Friday

(Clockwise: Sundiata, Sam Marandola, Peach Blossom, Lauren & The Homewreckers, Andromeda, Rew)

This Bandcamp Friday we’re excited to present a wide array of local options as bountiful and varying as the flowers in spring. For anyone unaware, Bandcamp Friday is when the online record store and music community, Bandcamp, dedicates the earnings made on that day to waiving their fees. This results in more money going directly to the artists who deserve it.

Sundiata

Sundiata is the solo music project of Wilmington based producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist Sundiata Watson. With their first Bandcamp release since 2020 their double release has elements of rock, rock, psychedelic and hip hop.

Sam Marandola

Previously making music under the moniker Oldest Sea, Sam Marandola is back with eight new dark folk experimental tunes freshly released March 2022. Back on the scene playing shows  with a full band, Sam Marandola is sure to be out and about enchanting and captivating an audience near you.

Peach Blossom

Just in time for spring, Peach Blossom released Pulp, a three song EP in March. It’s filled with alternative low fi, bedroom pop bliss. You can also purchase physical cassettes in their Bandcamp store.

Lauren & The Homewreckers

We had a chance to chat with leading lady Lauren Kuhne from Wilmington band, Lauren & The Homewreckers earlier this year about her upcoming full length album Logic Doesn’t Sing. It’s live and ready for your streaming pleasure. Stop by her Bandcamp shop and purchase a physical CD today.

Andromeda

Experimental jazz rap duo Andromeda is a collaboration of Matt Granpap and Grandaddy Swank. Released in February through Digital Acid Records, their three song EP Gateway Tapes blends low fi elements and brilliant lyricism. There’s a handmade clock for sale in their Bandcamp store, likely to be made by one of the artists and a testament to the amount of creativity and fun to be expected from this crew.

Rew

Rew is the solo project of Andrew Fusca, a songwriter from Delaware. He released Quiet All The Time, a 12 song album in March that’s brimming with shoegaze bedroom grunge-y goodness. You can pre-order limited edition cassettes in their Bandcamp store.
