Get To The Gig; The Vinyl Countdown

The Queen, in Wilmington Delaware, is hosting The Vinyl Countdown, a mega event for audiophiles, record collectors and music lovers, on April 14. With a Pop-Up Vinyl Market from four of Delaware’s premiere record stores, live musical performances and DJs, you can consider this Delaware’s preeminent ‘Record Store Day’ kickoff party.

This family-friendly event (children under 10 get in free) is taking place in the Main Hall downstairs. Musical performances on the main stage feature Grace Vonderkuhn, Region, and TreeWalker. This event doubles as an album release show for Newark, hard alt-rock band,Treewalker, releasing their music earlier in the day. Cruise the bountiful crates of records from Rainbow Records, International Grove Records, Jupiter Records, and Squeeze Box Records before grabbing a bite at The Three Amigos Mexican Grill food truck.

The first ‘Record Store Day’ took place in 2008 as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding it. Come out April 14 and be a part of nearly 1,400 independently-owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally directly supporting the local music scene.
