Christmas Bandcamp Friday 2022

(Clockwise from top left; Brittany Ann Tranbaugh, The Honey Badgers, Creep Bandita, Benjamin Wagner, Monika Bullette, Sug Daniels)

There are few things that say “Christmas has arrived” like Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. Although some ‘Grinches’ would rather stuff their ears with tinsel then enjoy the month and a half that this music is relevant, for others it’s just another way to set the mood of good tidings and cheer. This Bandcamp Friday Round Up we found some locals who either wrote their own holiday tunes or put their own spin on some classics.

For anyone unaware, Bandcamp Friday is when the online record store and music community, Bandcamp, dedicates 100% of the earnings made on that day back to the musicians by waiving their fees. This results in more money going directly to the artists who deserve it!

Brittany Ann Trambough

Brittany Ann Trambough may have limited Delaware experience, but if you caught this Philadelphia based artist's performance at The Queen earlier this year, you would have caught a star ready to launch into the stratosphere of talented humans. Since her appearance, she’s recorded an album in Nashville and LA, toured the West Coast as supporting act for electrifying front person Carsie Blanton, and wrote and recorded a heart melting good Christmas song from a needed, and appreciated, queer perspective.

The Honey Badgers

If you’re looking for a sweet and tender song for the holidays without the presents and gifts then look no further. Married Newark-based folk duo, The Honey Badgers’ ‘Warm Winter’ is ready for you, hot cocoa, and cuddles.

Creep Bandita

Newark rock-n-roller Grace Vonderkuhn brings us a sweet lofi, guitar distortion, droney version of  ‘White Christmas’ from their experimental solo side project Creep Bandita

Sug Daniels

Delaware-born, Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Sug Daniels is busting out the ukulele and some harmonies to bring friends and fans her bedroom lofi rendition of the late great Eartha Kitt’s classic ‘Santa Baby’.

Monika Bullette

Delaware punk rocker Monika Bullette has an impressive lofi, experimental, six-song Christmas album titled ‘A Very Bullette Christmas’ with new holiday stories and electronic sounds sprinkled on otherwise acoustic tracks, and lofty vocals.

Benjamin Wagner & Emily Zuzick

New guy on the Delaware music scene, Benjamin Wagner, gives us rock-a-billy realness in his version of ‘Merry Christmas, Baby’ featuring Emily Zuzick. The festive cover was originally released for 826NYC., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting inner city students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to help teachers inspire their students to write. Since its release in 2007, it’s raised nearly $20,000!
