3 Big Local Concerts In July

No matter what side of the canal you find yourself on this summer, Delaware has a music festival for you. The blocks will be brimming with both indie and international artists so we’ve rounded up some local festivals to add to your calendar for the month.

Shady Grove Music Festival

Arden, DE July 16

Shady Grove Music Festival is one of Delaware’s best kept secrets. Every year it usually sells out and for good reason. Guests can expect to be transported to the 60’s as they lounge on  blankets or lawn chairs in the cute, comfy, and intimate outdoor space. The line up is specially curated by our friends at The Arden Gild Hall and they bring in some of the best artists in the region right before they shoot off into the stratosphere of big time television appearances and world tours. There are several food trucks on the premises providing options to soak up the adult beverages they provide. For schedule, line up, and ticket info visit their website.

Summer Nights and Carnival Lights At Delaware State Fair

Harrington, DE July 21-30

Southern Delaware has always led the way in bringing some of country music’s best artists to the state. This year they continue their tradition with their summer concert series Summer Nights and Carnival Lights through the last two weeks of July during the Delaware State Fair. Enjoy a day of deep-fried Snickers, a larger than life ferris wheel, and rodeos at the Delaware State Fair before rocking the night away with musicians like Hank Williams Jr. and Nelly. For a full line up and schedule visit their website.

Milford Ladybug Music Festival

Milford, DE July 30

The Ladybug Music Festival is so nice, it’s happening twice! What started in 2012 as a way to prove that women can not only headline but carry an entire music festival has blossomed into one of the year's biggest and best parties. After a two year hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions the festival returned block-party style to Wilmington in May and it’s happening again in the streets of Milford on July 30.  Enjoy another world class lineup of all female empowered music spanning genres and styles.
