Bandcamp Friday; Ladybug Music Festival Edition

(Clockwise: The Infamous HER, Reese Florence, Bel, The Upstarters,  Red Birds, Clover)

The Ladybug Music Festival is returning this spring in Wilmington, May 20 from 5-10pm! This Bandcamp Friday we’re giving our readers the inside scoop on some of the talented musical artists they can expect to see around town.  For anyone unaware, Bandcamp Friday is when the online record store and music community, Bandcamp, dedicates the earnings made on that day to waiving their fees. This results in more money going directly to the artists who deserve it.

The Infamous HER

Originally from NYC, The Infamous HER now calls Nashville home. HER has performed in thousands of venues and arenas around the world and they’ll be bringing their high voltage alt-rock to Wilmington. Check out their bandcamp to purchase CDs, vinyl, and maybe even a t-shirt to wear in the front row for their performance at the HUMBLE PARK STAGE at 7:40PM.

Reese Florence

Germantown has a reputation for having unique and awe-inspiring musical artists. Reese Florence is no exception with her latest release of demos in March titled Démos des Journées Café. Very reminiscent of Lianne La Havas, Reese is going to be carrying us on a wave of pleasure at THE COOPER COURTYARD at 5:20PM.

Bel

Philadelphia based singer songwriter Bel released Beaches a nine song EP in March. Recorded at Headroom Studios in Philadelphia, she layers beautiful lyrics and vocals over top of sometimes fun, sometimes soft and tender instrumentation. Join her for what’s sure to be an amazing set at ARTZSCAPE 1 at 6:55PM.

The Upstarters

The Upstarters are based from Baltimore, Maryland, and returning to the Ladybug Music Festival MAIN STAGE at 7:45PM. They blend ska, r&b, and reggae to relay their message of unity and community.

Red Birds

Hailing from Elkton, Maryland, Red Birds are bringing the folk Americana foot-stomping style that festival goers love to clap and sing in unison with. Zoe, Dan, and Sam will be entertaining Ladybug Music Festival fans for their first time at MILK & HONEY at 6:00PM.

CLOVER

CLOVER is a singer-songwriter originally from a small river town in New Jersey. For fans of Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers this indie singer-songwriter is going to be melting hearts and making fans at ACADEMY FOR PEACE at 7:40PM.
