Get To The Gig; Wilmo Rock Circus

UPDATE WILMO ROCK CIRCUS HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO FEBRUARY 4TH!

In 2011 a 10 band line-up like none other took place in Wilmington. Developing over several years into a true festival event including three separate stages, some of the best musicians in the state, and ring masters entertaining the crowd between staggered acts, Wilmo Rock Circus would titillate the senses of music fans for years to come at the historic music venue, The Queen.

One pandemic and decade later, the brainchild and collaboration of musician and composer Joe Trainor and Gable Music Ventures, is making it’s highly anticipated return to Theatre N at Nemours. “Joe literally sat us down at a meeting and said he wanted to do a show with the best local rock bands playing on three stages like a three ring circus and call it Wilmo Rock Circus”says Jeremy Hebbel, co-owner of Gable Music Ventures. "Music exists outside the four walls it's shared in. People want to be in the present moment to listen to the music, and the four walls don't really matter, doesn't matter if it's an actual venue or a pop-up venue, it's about the experience - we weren't limited by anything" comments Gayle Dillman, co-owner of Gable Music Ventures.

Although the venue has changed, the energy and excitement is just as electric as it’s conception. Along with some returning acts like The Bullets, Universal Funk Order, and The Keefs, are newcomers Vinyl Shockley, Dentist from Asbury Park, New Jersey and local legend Darnell Miller’s musical project The Souldaires.

“I think we’re doing it again because we realized it’s been ten years and wanted to mark the occasion. It was also just situational a bit in that Joe Trainor Trio has been itching for a reunion opportunity and we started thinking how cool it would be if we could get the entire original lineup back for one night” comments Jeremy Hebbel.
